An arena renovation project covers 1600 square meter of wooden sports flooring area. The venue locates in the vicinity to Shum Shui Po MTR station that provides prominent accessibility to citizen and community parties for organizing a range of sports trainings, competitions and community networking events. In addition, the facility management reflects the venue is used to be selected by Hong Kong elite squad of badminton for regular training.

Strengthening works to the sub-construction for 174 square meter area was requested in this project as for accommodating four separate audience stands which provide seatings for 174 individuals in total.

Therefore, NRT Building Materials Limited as the responsible specialist contractor on this project has committed to bring Junckers UnoBat 62+ to live up to high expectations of the sports flooring performance from professional players. 

The concrete substrate was found uneven and unlevelled after demolition of pre-existing debonded screed, construction height is ranging from 85mm to 120mm across the area. Choosing Junckers’ UnoBat 62+ shall cut down the costs and the time tremendously from touch-up works towards the substrate. Choosing J-Lock wedges instead of wet trade such as conventional cement and sand mixture/ self-leveling compound for leveling solution also improves on-site environmental performance. UnoBat 62+ and sub-construction strengthening works were promptly completed in 3 weeks.
