DIRECTION FOR USE
Before application, untreated/sanded wood:
Ensure that the surface is absolutely clean, dry and free from dust, wax, grease, polish etc. Unevenness, dirt and discolouration can be removed by sanding in direction of the grain. Final sanding must be with sandpaper grit 100-120. Vacuum sanding dust.
Priming of non-absorbing or less absorbing wood species, e.g. oak, ash, merbau:
A single layer of oil is suffcient. Apply oil and leave to dry for approximately 20 minutes.
Priming of absorbing wood species, e.g. beech and maple:
Apply 1 coat of oil and leave to dry for approximately 20 minutes.
Then follow up with a further “wet in wet” coat of oil.
Again leave to dry for 20 minutes.
If spots with rapidly absorbed oil are noticed, then distribute surplus oil over these absorbing areas. Remove any surplus oil with a dry cotton cloth or with help of a polishing machine. Surplus oil must be removed no later than 1 hour after application and the surface should then appear mat and even.
Allow to dry for at least 16 hours, after which wood fibres that have risen should be removed by sanding with a polishing machine equipped with a black pad. Remove sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner.
Finishing with Rustic Top Oil:
Apply 2 thin coats of Rustic Top Oil (60-80 m² per litre per coat), conducted 1 hour apart. The surface is ready for light traffic after approximately 1 hour.
Before using the product, read the label on the container carefully and observe the recommended precautionary measures.
